Examination Procedure
The Open University of Sri Lanka is a national university that offers programs of education leading to Certificate, Diploma, Degrees, and Postgraduate degrees up to Ph.D. level within the Open and Distance Mode of Learning. It is Island widely (branches located in every province of Sri Lanka) spread for the ease of satisfying students’ requirements. The Department of Legal Studies attached to the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Open University conducts LLB an LLM degree programmes. The Especially of this program is that it enables the opportunity to have a degree rather than a professional qualification. Open University offers degrees of law after completing the 4-year study period. Students have to pass the final year examination of the Law College, and after completing the six-month apprenticeship, students can be sworn in as a lawyer in the Supreme Court. Unlike the Law College entrance examination,
- The LL. B examination ask the applicants just to pass the A/L examination with three simple passes (3s).
- There are more than 700 applicants who successfully pass the LL. B examination are selected per intake.
- LMC recommend this for the students who are working or students who want to do this part-time(Weekend lectures only)
Relatively the exam is easier than the Law Entrance Examination conducted by department of examination in Sri Lanka.
- IQ (time hours / 100 marks)
- Comprehension - Sinhala / Tamil (Time 1h) / 100 marks)
- English Language (Time 1 hour / 100 marks)
- General Knowledge ( Time 1 Hour/ 100 Marks)
In order to pass the examination, 25% marks are required for English & Sinhala Comprehension and 10% are required for General Knowledge and General Intelligence. Click here for more Information.
